Long Bridge Park Aquatics, Health and Fitness Facility Construction Postponed

Arlington County Manager Barbara Donnellan announced today that the County will not award a contract for construction of Long Bridge Park Phase 2, which includes the Aquatics, Health and Fitness Facility and 8.5 acres of park. After thoroughly reviewing the project budget to look for cost savings and holding a series of discussions with the lowest bidder, the County has found that the community’s vision for the park could not be implemented within the current budget. The County is currently exploring alternatives.

Arlington’s Aaa/AAA/AAA Bond Rating Reaffirmed

For the 14th consecutive year, credit ratings agencies Moody’s, Fitch and Standard & Poor’s have reaffirmed Arlington County’s debt ratings of Aaa/AAA/AAA – the highest ratings. Arlington is one of only 39 counties in the United States to hold this distinction.

CORRECTION: Arlington Issues Corrected FY2015 Budget Press Release

CORRECTION: A release issued by the County on Wednesday, April 17 incorrectly stated the percentage increase in the County FY 2015 Budget for both County Operations and for Schools funding. This release corrects those errors and adds the total increase in funding for Schools over the FY 2014 Budget. We regret the errors.
