Arlington Public Art Project Selected As One Of Top 50 In Nation

Arlington Public Art has been honored by the Americans for the Arts Public Art Network with a 2013 Year in Review “Top 50” designation for its project Echo. Submissions were judged on artistic excellence, innovative quality of concept, and appropriateness to site context. More than 350 public art projects from around the nation competed for the honor. Located in Penrose Square, Echo was inspired by the Three Sisters Radio Towers, formerly located near Columbia Pike and Courthouse Road South.

Arlington County to Donate Historic Lustron Home to Ohio Historical Society

The Arlington County Board today authorized the donation of Arlington’s Historic Lustron Home to the Ohio Historical Society in Columbus Ohio, birthplace of the Lustron Corporation that manufactured the steel houses. The home is set to become part of the historical society’s permanent collection, which also maintains the historic Lustron Corporation archives.
