Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Police Impersonator Suspect

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying an at-large police impersonator suspect. The subject attempted to impersonate a police officer in two stores at Pentagon City Mall on January 3, 2013. In both attempts, the suspect flashes a badge, states he is a “detective” and needs to seize wrist watches as evidence in a case. Store employees in both incidents did not comply with the suspects demands and asked him to leave their stores.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5’8” tall and 170 lbs. At the time of the incident he was wearing dark colored jeans, a gray jacket and a red and black plaid hat.
