ARLINGTON, Va. – The Arlington County Police Department, US Park Police, and VDOT will close multiple roadways on Friday, July 4, 2014. These closures are designed to facilitate the safe passage of large crowds for the Independence Day events and fireworks. Listed below are the streets and times that will be affected:
6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
8:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
Street parking in the areas of the US Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima), Long Bridge Park, and Air Force Memorial will be restricted. Motorists should be on the lookout for temporary “No Parking” signs. Illegally parked vehicles may be ticketed or towed. If your vehicle is towed from a public street, please call 703-558-2222.

Attendees are strongly encouraged to use public transportation. The Rosslyn Metro stop on the Orange Line is approximately 5 blocks north of the US Marine Corps War Memorial (Iwo Jima), and the Air Force Memorial is within walking distance of the Pentagon City Metro station. Arlington County will be running shuttle buses to Long Bridge Park from the Crystal City and Pentagon City Metro stations.
